The mission
A deeply questionable space program
Spacelemons is a band of friends taking one very terrestrial 2004 Subaru to the 24 Hours of Lemons: the endurance race for cars that cost about as much as a nice laptop.
We do our own wrenching, in our own garage, with more enthusiasm than experience. Everything you see here actually happened. We are documenting all of it, including the parts that fall off.

Our flagship. Allegedly.
Everyone called it a WRX. Then we read the VIN.

Episode 0: Delivery Day
Where it all began. On Oct 8, Dave trailered the car from Brentwood to the garage, and it started on the first try, on a boat battery. Then we read the VIN: not a WRX. Barf narrates the delivery, the key ceremony, a very unathletic first climb out of the car, and the expired safety gear that started our fix list.

Meet Barf, our new team mascot
Barf used to haunt our Halloween display. Now he runs the garage: he keeps the to-do list, counts down to race day, and catches our torque spec mix-ups. (It's the front right axle nut. 162 ft-lb. Thanks, Barf.)

First contact with a racetrack
Five drivers, one test day at Laguna Seca. The car ran every session and passed the sound check with room to spare. We came home with a fix list, a lot of onboard video, and our dignity mostly intact.
